What’s the most precious possession you have?

Your phone?  Your laptop? Your watch? Your house?

Those things might be important… but if they were broken or you lost them by some misfortune… you’d be able to put that right. You’d be angry and frustrated and upset and it would spoil your day – but it wouldn’t be a problem forever.

That’s why time is your most important possession. Each day, we all get the same amount of it: 24 short hours, to make them count as much as we can. (If you like counting, you can look at it another way: there are 1,440 minutes in a day too!)

So – if you want to be as effective as possible, value your own time and respect other people’s.

Time is the most valuable thing on Earth.

At Panther Taekwondo Black Belt Academy, we value our own time and respect other people’s. Management meetings take one hour – if you leave them open-ended they can take forever. (Everybody wants to talk, right?)

In a tight time frame, you have to focus. If you’re late, you’ll miss some of the meeting, because it’s going to start on time

It’s not just meetings – Panther Taekwondo classes always start on time too. Time is the most valuable thing on earth. When it’s lost, you’ll never get it back. Time is the master – you can never reclaim it. So press-ups are a punishment for students if you are late: no one likes doing press-ups. That’s how you teach young people to really value time!

If you feel as though you’re drifting, realise that you’re wasting something that you’ll never get back. The most precious thing on Earth. The one, irreplaceable thing. So get focussed, find your purpose and make each minute count.
