The art of teaching taekwondo

A green belt is a taekwondo student’s half way stage. To reach green belt standard usually takes around 15 months of training. It’s at this stage that they are able to help more junior students. By this point, their own skills and techniques in taekwondo are becoming instinctive and natural to the student.

One thing is important, though. Black belts always teach beginners. To introduce a newcomer to the art is a task for an expert.

Why?

We use self-discipline in order to attain freedom

Not everyone likes to teach and some are naturally more gifted in this field than others. To become an professional instructor is an entirely separate training. Some people are very motivated to take this path,  others far more committed to becoming fighters and to the practise of the art of taekwondo.  But to have travelled to the point of achieving a black belt shows something about the student’s passion and feeling – and that’s of great help to a beginner.

We want to lift people up – to inspire them to strive, to become better, to discipline their bodies and minds in order to achieve freedom. And the only way to know what that might feel like is to be around someone who already feels it for him or herself.

We value our black belts. We work hard for them. They are deeply meaningful to us. Only those who hold black belt knowledge can inspire a newcomer.

If you want to be inspired, contact us either via our website or on Twitter We would love to pass the passion we have to you too.
